On August 19, 2006, Petrochina Talimu Fertilizer Project, of which Chengda participates in the engineering design, officially had foundation laying at Petrol-chemicalIndustrial Park of Kuerle, the capital of Bayinguoleng Mongolia autonomous prefecture of Xinjiang province.

The project has a total investment of 2.837 billion RMB, with capacity of 1,500 TPD synthesis ammonia and 2,640 TPD melt urea. It is so far the largest capacity for one single set of fertilizer plant. Its construction will be of great importance for implementation of strong resources transformation strategy, pushing the process of new-style industrialization as well as the building of harmonious society.

Leaders present at the foundation-laying ceremony were members of Central Politic Bureau of Communist Party and Secretary of Party Committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Wang Lequan, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and Vice President of Petrochina, and President of Petrochina Stock Co. Ltd. Jiangjiemin and Secretary of Party Committee of Bazhou Prefecture Zhangbo. President of Talimu Oil Field Corporation presided the foundation-laying ceremony. Vice President Lu Zheyu and Project Manager Duan Zhaobo, attended the ceremony.
