On July 16,2007, Chengda Engineering Corp. of China (CHENGDA) and Southwest Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group (SEPDI) signed the Engineering Design & Services Subcontract for Labuan 2×300 Coal-Fired Power Plant Project. The signature ceremony was held in the office building of SEPDI. Mr. Cao Guang – President of CHENGDA and Mr. Zhou Daji – President of SEPDI presented at the ceremony and signed the contract.

The first cooperation between CHENGDA and SEPDI was dated back to February 2004, in the project of Indonesia Cliacap 2×300MW Coal-Fired Power Plant. And in September 2004, the two companies signed a framework agreement, and turned to be long-term strategic partners. This time, the cooperation between the two indicates that the strategic cooperation has entered into a new and higher stage; and this “alliances among the fittest” could lead to a better and more efficient result for Labuan Project.

SEPDI’s President Mr. Zhou Daji and CHENGDA’s President Mr. Cao Guang addressed at the ceremony, and expressed their thanks for the trust and support from the both sides, and they wished both CHENGDA and SEPDI could keep on the long-term friendship as the strategic partners. Later on, SEPDI’s Vice President Mr. Song Peiqing and CHENGDA’s Vice President Mr. Wang Xuanzhou also addressed at the ceremony. As well, Project Manager Mr. Zhu Yumin and Chief Design Engineer Mr. Xiong Tao expressed their confidence of doing Labuan Project better than the Project of Cliacap.
